Launch of a new service for our members: The Book Review Club

LVMI-Europe starts with a Book Review Club as a service for its members. We will read and discuss books written by important economists who are inspired by the paradigm of the Austrian School of Economics. Members will have the opportunity to learn from and discuss books with other members in on-line sessions organized by LVMI-Europe.

The first book that we have selected is “Economics in One Lesson” written by Henry Hazlitt. With over one million copies sold, this book is one of the most important introductions to Austrian Economics. It analyzes economic policies and societal phenomena by not only looking at the immediate consequences and effects but also by looking at the long-term and hidden effects on groups of individuals and society as a whole.

This important book will be discussed in three sessions of 1h to 1h30 on the following dates:
Session 1: November 1 at 5pm CET
Session 2: November 8 at 5pm CET
Session 3: November 15 at 5pm CET

Moderator of the sessions: Boris Amic, Research Fellow and Steering Committee Member LVMI-Europe.

Preparation: each participant is invited but not obliged to read the book at least for one third for each session. The aim is that the session will be as interactive as possible and that we can learn from each other.

Participation: for LMVI-Europe members only; send an e-mail to assistant@vonmisesinstitute-europe.org with your name and you will receive the Teams-link of the session.

The book: ”Economics in One Lesson” by Henry Hazlitt, 230 pages depending on the edition.
