10th Annual Madrid Conference on Austrian Economics – Call for Papers (deadline this July 31st)

The Faculty of Political Economy of Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid, in cooperation with the Master Program in Economics of the Austrian School, is holding its tenth annual conference on Austrian Economics. The aim of the conference is to bring together scholars from around the world who are conducting research within this intellectual tradition.

The Scientific Committee invites submissions of papers related to Austrian Economics, covering subject areas such as value and utility, market behaviour, money and banking, financial economics,
business cycles, economic history, law, and philosophy.

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the conference, a Gala Dinner will be hosted at the Casino de Madrid, during which the winners of the Youth Liberty Prize 2026 and the recipients of the Research
Grants 2026, sponsored by the Fundación Jesús Huerta de Soto Ballester (www.fjhsb.es), will be announced and honoured.

Venue and Timetable:
The conference will be held on the premises of Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid (Vicálvaro). It will begin on Wednesday, October 21st at 2 pm, ending with the Conference Dinner on Friday evening, October 23rd, 2026.

Conference Fees and Expenses:
Participants are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses. The €250 registration fee includes a Cocktail Reception on Wednesday evening, the Gala Dinner on Thursday evening, the Conference Dinner on Friday evening, and lunches on Thursday and Friday, as well as catering during
coffee breaks.
Best Papers Award and Publication:
To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the conference, the Fundación Jesús Huerta de Soto Ballester will award the four best original and complete papers with the following exceptional prizes: The Mises-Prize (€10’000), the Hayek-Prize (€7’500), the Rothbard-Prize (€5’000) and the Kirzner-Prize (€2’500).
Selected papers may be published – if desired by the author – in Procesos de Mercado: Revista Europea de Economía Política.

Jubilee Grants Upon request and when appropriate need is justified, the Fundación Jesús Huerta de Soto Ballester will waive the €250 registration fee for up to twenty presenting authors of complete
papers. Funds are also available to cover travel expenses for up to ten presenting authors.
Youth Liberty Prize / Research Grants:
During the Gala Dinner at the Casino de Madrid, the winners of the Youth Liberty Prize 2026 and the recipients of the Research Grants 2026, sponsored by the Fundación Jesús Huerta de Soto
Ballester (www.fjhsb.es), will be honoured.
